The junior, Cadet, & U21 Karate World Championships has been held in Jesolo, Italy, from October 9th to 13th. The event hosted more than 2000 athletes coming from all over the world who competed on over 1000 m2 of the new tatami bio-based produced by ProGame Tatami.
For the first time the world of martial arts had the opportunity to experience the first bio tatami ever produced. The new Green WKF Approved Tatami, is composed indeed of 20% of our TR-EECell bio-based foam, arising from the sugar cane waste.
With this new product, ProGame Tatami entered to be part of the Green Karate program, promoted by the World Karate Federation with which it will commit to make Karate a more environmentally sustainable sport. Trocellen contributes to achieve this goal through ProGame Tatami’s 20% reduction in CO2 emissions with this new product line..
Our LCA studies proved that, compared to the previous version of the 100% fossil product, we reduce the equivalent CO2 of 2.28 kg each m2, considering the life cycle of the product up to the shipment from our factories (excluding use and end of life). This is a truly important result and responsibility for ProGame Tatami as the first and only manufacturer of karate bio-based tatami in the world, involved in the Federation Program.
