I graduated as a food engineer and also hold qualifications as a quality assurance professional and internal auditor. My official position is Quality Control Assistant; however, my responsibilities go well beyond this title. In addition to assistant-level tasks, I also perform shift-based quality inspections and am currently fully responsible for handling supplier complaints end to end.
Why did you choose this profession?
The field of quality management attracted me already during my studies because of its precision and system-oriented approach. Another important factor was that this sector offers significantly better opportunities and long-term prospects than my original profession. I wanted to choose a career path that aligns with my professional interests while also allowing me to build a more financially stable future.
Is there an advantage to choosing your profession as a woman?
This is a difficult question, but I would say that women often view things through a slightly different lens. We tend to notice smaller details more instinctively—details that others might overlook—and in quality management, these small things often make a big difference. Multitasking is also essential in our field. In addition to my core assistant duties, I manage supplier complaints and actively participate in shift-based inspections. This ability to divide my attention helps me handle both precise administrative work at a computer and the fast pace of the production line while keeping everything under control.
Do you have female role models?
Rather than highlighting one specific person, I would point to an attitude that many women represent. I see as role models all women who have had the courage and perseverance to prove themselves in a professional environment and create lasting value in their field.
What are your greatest achievements?
My professional foundation was established through my engineering degree, two language certificates and my academic research work. Building on that, I consider my greatest achievement to be the continuous expansion of my practical knowledge. I appreciate gaining insight into more and more areas and developing a broader skill set through my daily work. It is important to me not to be limited to a single task, but to be able to handle many processes independently and understand workflows with confidence.
What would your advice be for young women thinking about a career in science?
I would advise them to focus on acquiring real, practical knowledge, as that is what provides genuine confidence—while always avoiding arrogance. Empathy and a humane approach to others are essential, because professional expertise alone is not enough; relationships are what truly move things forward. Most importantly, they should have inner strength and never allow themselves to be suppressed, because their knowledge and work will speak for themselves.
What is the funniest or most memorable thing that has happened to you while working at TC?
Although there is some small moment of joy almost every day, the most memorable experience was when—right after obtaining my driving licence, with no car of my own and very little driving experience—I had to drive alone to one of our other plants. I was extremely nervous, but I knew I had to handle the situation. When I arrived safely, the sense of achievement and pride I felt was worth all the stress. It was one of those situations where being thrown into the deep end showed me that I am capable of much more than I initially believed.
Is it hard to manage both career and private life?
I won’t pretend otherwise—finding balance is often very difficult. There are days when I am so mentally and emotionally exhausted after work that it is hard to regain momentum at home and deal with household tasks. I remember that as a single person, without support, this was even more demanding. Now, being in a healthy relationship, I am fortunate to have support, but even so, achieving proper rest at the end of the day is not always possible—sometimes after a “second shift” the energy is simply gone. Despite these challenges, I am proud of being able to manage both areas of my life. Having a stable background gives me extra strength, allowing me to look positively toward the next morning even after the most tiring days.
