Why did you choose this profession?
I chose this profession because HSE field enables me to contribute directly to reducing workplace accidents and safeguarding employees’ health.
Other than that, I also able to support management and employees in fostering a strong safety culture, where safety is integrated into everyday work practices.
This gives my role a clear sense of purpose and professional fulfilment.
Is there an advantage to choosing your profession as a woman?
Yes, there are advantages. As a woman, I bring a diverse perspective to safety management, particularly in areas such as effective communication, empathy, and attention to detail. These attributes are essential in HSE, where understanding human behaviour, influencing safe practices, and engaging employees at all levels are as important as technical and regulatory knowledge. Being approachable and empathetic helps in engaging employees at all levels, encouraging open communication, and addressing safety concerns proactively. This allows me to build trust, foster collaboration, and promote a positive safety culture that resonates across the organisation.

Yes, I do. I am inspired by women in leadership roles who have shown professionalism and integrity in industries. Their ability to lead with confidence, make ethical decisions, and overcome challenges motivates me to continuously improve myself.
What are your greatest achievements?
One of my greatest achievements is successfully improving safety culture and compliance within my workplace while building strong involvement with employees and management. Personally, growing into a leadership role in HSE as Head of Department and gaining trust as a safety professional is something I am very proud of. These achievements reflect years of dedication, continuous learning, and commitment to creating a safer and more responsible work environment.
What would your advice be for the young women thinking about a career in science?
My advice is to have confidence in your capabilities and to recognise your own potential. Young women should not hesitate to voice their ideas, seek clarification, and take on challenges that support their growth. A commitment to continuous learning, resilience in the face of obstacles, and strong self-belief are essential for long-term success. Science-related careers offer endless opportunities, and women have an important role to play in shaping innovation and progress.
What is the funniest or most memorable thing that has happened to you while working in TC?
A memorable moment for me was during a production Gemba when an employee, upon seeing me, quickly raised his hand to show that he was wearing his safety hand gloves. It was funny, but it also showed that safety awareness had really become part of daily work and shown its importance.
Is it hard to manage both career and private life?
Definitely balancing career and private life can be challenging at times, especially in a role that requires responsibility. However, good time management make it manageable. I believe that maintaining balance is important for long-term success and personal well-being. Taking care of oneself allows us to perform better both at work and in life.
