Why did you choose this profession?
I have always had a natural curiosity for processes and scientific subjects. The challenge of solving complex problems is what led me to my academic and professional path.
Is there an advantage to choosing your profession as a woman?
I believe that diversity of perspective is a great value; women often bring a multidisciplinary approach and a strong problem-solving ability.
Do you have a female role model(s)?
Samantha Cristoforetti, for her extraordinary technical preparation and her ability to communicate science in an accessible way.
What are your greatest achievements?
From a professional point of view, the awareness of having made a significant contribution to defining processes and procedures in the field of occupational safety and environmental protection.
What would your advice be for young women thinking about a career in science?
The advice I would give is not to be afraid of making mistakes and not to be influenced by those who say “it’s not a job for women”.
What is the funniest or most memorable thing that has happened to you while working at TC?
What struck me the most from the very first days at TCI was experiencing a multinational environment where there are interesting and very instructive elements of a culture so different from ours, such as the Japanese culture.
Is it hard to manage both career and private life?
Balancing career and private life is certainly a challenge that requires organization, but also thanks to an inclusive corporate culture, it is possible to find the right balance.
