La r\u00e9ticulation conf\u00e8re une r\u00e9sistance plus importante \u00e0 la mousse contre certaines substances comme les produits chimiques. Elle apporte \u00e9galement une isolation thermique excellente vu que la surface de la mousse devient particuli\u00e8rement lisse et tendre, de plus, elle sera beaucoup plus flexible et l\u00e9g\u00e8re compte tenu de la caract\u00e9ristique de r\u00e9ticulation. L\u2019ac\u00e9tate de vinyle conf\u00e8re une certaine souplesse et \u00e9lasticit\u00e9 \u00e0 la mousse, ainsi l\u2019EVA figure dans la cat\u00e9gorie des mati\u00e8res commun\u00e9ment connue sous le nom du caoutchouc expans\u00e9 ou caoutchouc mousse.\r\n\r\nLes mousses EVA sont caract\u00e9ris\u00e9es par une \u00e9lasticit\u00e9 importante, une r\u00e9sistance m\u00e9canique et UV et une t\u00e9nacit\u00e9 aux basses temp\u00e9ratures et elles sont r\u00e9sistantes \u00e0 l\u2019eau.
