When did you join the company? What was your first position?

I started as a packer in January 2020.

Tell us about your background and qualifications.

I worked in the hospitality industry before I started here, which taught me a lot about hard work, but, unfortunately, it’s more of a ‘robotic’ way of working and the opportunities for intellectual career development and progression on the job are quite limited.

What led to your appointment?

I started in the laminating department as a packer and the foreman who was there at the time saw the potential in me and got me into laminating quite quickly.

What are your key responsibilities today?

I am currently working on the technological development of a heat press line and a couple of slitting and cutting machines, both the machines and the products, as well as participating in product testing and development, and setting up the machines.

You’ve been with the company for multiple years. Why do you still like working here?

I have been with the company for 4 years. I learn something new every day and find exciting new challenges that keep me going.

Share something with us about your private life, about your hobbies so that we can get to know you a little bit better. Is a work-life balance difficult to achieve?

In my free time I like hiking, doing sports and travelling. One of my hobbies is swimming, which I think is the perfect sport to keep the whole body fit, and after swimming a sauna can even soothe the soul. It’s quite easy for me to find the right balance between work and private life, I’m single, so I spend a lot of time with my family and develop myself, either by learning a new language or a new sport, it depends on the situation.

What is your advice for new hires? What should they do to have such a successful career at Trocellen?

To be persistent, patient, and ambitious. And always try to look on the bright side as well.
